I've been sewing for about a month now. Not sure how I decided I wanted a sewing machine, but I got one and am so happy about it. This past Christmas break I returned to my old hobby of cross-stitching. Of course, I didn't finish the picture but I made good progress. I will attach a picture soon.
I think now that maybe Pinterest got me interested in sewing. I've collected quite a few old pairs of jeans and had no idea what to do with them. I saw ideas to make bags and all sorts of things, especially things I can use in my classroom. I got my machine and put it to the test. I made a yoga mat bag out of a leg of an old pair and embroidered a butterfly and "yoga" on the side. It's ok for me and being my first sewing project - far from perfect.
